Extract crystals and stone from nodes

Training guide

Swing a pickaxe at rocks to pull ore, then smelt it into bars for the smithing skills.

Getting started

Grab a pickaxe first — pick one up on Tutorial Island near the copper rocks, or buy a bronze pickaxe from Keeper Elm or Keeper Flint. Then mine any copper or tin rock.

5–15Iron rocksIron opens at L5. Iron + coal makes steel bars later — bank the coal.
12–28Crystal veins, coal & goldCrystal veins L12, coal L15, gold L18, silver L20. Coal is the bottleneck for steel and higher bars.
28–99Mithril, adamantite & runiteMithril L28, adamantite L38, runite L48 — slow swings but huge XP and the materials for end-game gear.

Tips

  • Smelt ore into bars at a furnace — the Mining recipe list shows every bar and its level.
  • Mining pairs with Stonecarving: you mine the ore, smith the bars into weapons and armour.
