Training guide
Smith bars and stone into tools, weapons and armour at an anvil — the armoury skill.
Getting started
Bring metal bars (smelted via Mining) to an anvil. Start with stone bricks or a bronze pickaxe at L1.
| Levels | Activity | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 1–8 | Bronze tools, weapons & armour | Chisels, hammers, bronze pickaxes/axes, bronze swords and the bronze armour set. |
| 8–22 | Iron gear & steel weapons | Iron tools and the full iron armour set (L12–15), then steel longswords and platebodies (L17–22). |
| 22–48 | Mithril & adamantite gear | Mithril armour L27–32, adamantite L37–42 — the mid-to-late melee progression. |
| 48–99 | Runite gear | Runite weapons and armour (L47–50) are the end-game smithing payoff. |

Tips
- Every melee weapon and armour piece in the game is smithed here — it feeds the Attack, Strength and Defence skills.
- You need bars from Mining first, so train the two together.
