Chop trees for logs — the raw material for planks, bows, arrows and most furniture.

Pick up a bronze axe on Tutorial Island (near the oak trees) or buy one from Keeper Elm, then chop any oak tree.

Levels	Activity	What to do
1–8	Oak trees & driftwood shore	Oak is the L1 starter; driftwood shore opens at L5 for a change of pace.
8–18	Pine & willow trees	Pine L8, willow L14. Willow logs are the first good plank and bow material.
18–32	Birch & maple trees	Birch L18, maple L22 — steady XP through the mid game.
32–99	Yew & magic trees	Yew L32 and magic trees L42 (~195 XP) are the fastest woodcutting XP available.

Turn logs into planks at a sawmill — planks feed Architecture and the bow/arrow recipes.
Woodcutting recipes also craft starter bows, arrows and fishing rods at the sawmill.
